Sheffield Central Quaker Meeting
On behalf of the Management Committee of Sheffield Central Quaker Meeting, we have no hesitation in endorsing David Edwards. From May to December 2015, David took on the challenge of making multiple changes to the room hire business of Sheffield Quaker Meeting House. He possesses an insightful grasp of what others have overlooked and what needs to change, coupled with a technological understanding of the systems needed to join up the various parts of the business. Within a short timescale, he successfully introduced new systems, structures and roles, working skilfully with the existing staff team and making good relationships with all involved. He communicates clearly and effectively at all levels, working collaboratively to bring out the best in people and successfully fostering a spirit of shared enterprise. David managed to gain commitment and respect even from those who had resisted change. He exceeded our expectations and leaves the business in a far better condition than when he arrived.
Judy Hargadon OBE
As the former Chief Executive for the Children’s Food Trust from 2006 to 2013, I worked with David for six years as he developed and lead the very successful Let’s Get Cooking programme. David plans projects well and delivers to time and to target – indeed often beyond target. He also builds and sustains good working relationships across the full spectrum of colleagues and partner organisations. David is a very experienced manager, who uses his expertise in a wise and supportive manner to help others. He is an expert in people management and a great coach.
Rob Rees MBE
I have known David for 6 years in my capacity as Chairman of the Childrens Food Trust (formerly the School Food Trust). It was his drive, eye to detail, belief in a cause and thorough work that led to the successful funding from the Big Lottery Fund as well as other projects. It is well documented how difficult it is to receive major programme funding from the lottery and yet David led his team to create a scheme that satisfied funders whilst achieving the important mission of the Childrens Food Trust.
His bid writing and contract management is excellent. Not only this but he manages the challenge of board trustees, alongside the work of an executive director, alongside the pressures of complying with the reporting mechanisms required by multi-million pound schemes. I have no hesitation recommending him.
